A Diverse Community Of Individuals And Families Bound By A Shared Love Of The Open And Wild Spaces Of Montana

For centuries, Native Americans including the Shoshone, Flathead and Bannock would summer in the Madison Valley, often establishing their camps on the bluffs overlooking the Madison River. The Native Americans that occupied the site at the 8 Mile Ford of the Madison River likely hunted bison and antelope on the land that today comprises Pronghorn Meadows

The discovery of Gold and Garnets in the Alder gap in the mid-nineteenth century witnessed the development of Virginia City to the West complemented by Ennis to the East along what would become the Highway 287 corridor. Native hunting grounds soon became cattle ranches, supplying a developing and expanding United States market. That ranching tradition continues today with multigenerational families working the lands; their cattle sharing the rich grasses with antelope, deer, moose and elk.

In addition to ranching, the greater Ennis community is surrounded by open lands dedicated to conservation and recreational opportunities including hiking, hunting, and fishing. Just to the east of Pronghorn Ranches is the Madison River, a world-renowned blue-ribbon trout stream!

Pronghorn Meadows was developed in 2005 as a planned development consisting of 135 lots situated on approximately 673 acres. Presently, 44 homes have been constructed in the community and of those 44 homes, 31 are full time residences! New homes are added each year as locals and newcomers alike discover Pronghorn Meadows. Services, available to all Pronghorn Meadows lot owners include an equestrian center, an association clubhouse and a dedicated storage site for recreational equipment.

Pronghorn Meadows strikes a genuine balance with nature. We share wide our open fields with Pronghorn Antelope, Grey Partridges, Meadowlarks, Songbirds, migrating Elk and even the occasional Moose! At night our dark skies are illuminated by the Milky Way and a multitude of stars and planets.

To protect and maintain all of this while insuring a full-tilt Montana lifestyle, Pronghorn Meadows is governed by community covenants and a dynamic, responsive HOA board. As you will discover when you visit here, we are blessed with great people, wild and open land and blue skies, not to mention the million-dollar views of the Madison range, Sphinx mountain and Fan mountain just outside our windows!
